Reyburn Notches Two Goals as Women's Soccer Scores Seven For The First Time Since 2015

WATERTOWN, Wis. – A decade in the making, the Alma College women's soccer team netted seven goals for the first time since the 2015 season as they wrapped up non-conference plat against Maranatha Baptist University on Tuesday, October 14th. The Scots were also able to keep a clean sheet on their way to a 7-0 win across the lake.

Alma returned to their early offensive push they had going earlier this season and were able to tally the game's first goal just 39 seconds in. Aubri Torok set up Kaitlyn Reyburn who was able to sneak one past the goalkeeper and put the Scots up 1-0 on the games first shot. Alma extended their lead just five minutes later as again Torok was able to set up another teammate, Cecelia Scaife, who was able to find pay dirt and put the Scots up 2-0. Alma continued to put shots and scoring chances on net, forcing the Sabercats defense to hold their own before Alma broke through a third time for the half. Ava Atchinson netted the third goal for the Scots on an assist from Kassidy Hofstetter at the 42 and half minute mark, giving Alma their 3-0 lead they took into the break.

Picking right up where they left off, the Scots netted a goal just over a minute into the second half, again by Reyburn with an assist from Ivy Beall to open play in frame two. Just under a minute later, Grace Sczepanski found the back of the net to extend the Scots lead to five, under three minutes into the second half. After ten minutes passed by from the Scots last tally, Alma found another goal off the foot of Hannah Meyer, assisted by Sczepanski as the Scots were spreading the points throughout the lineup card. Alma's final tally came from Abby Wannacott, giving the Scots the most goals in a game since 2017. The Scots would hold the Sabercats shotless throughout the contest as Mallory Fee would record the shutout.

Reyburn would finish the game with four points on two goals, followed by Sczepanski with three points and a handful of Scots with two points in the match. Nine Scots players had their name listed in the Score sheet, a season-high in the cross-lake non-conference matchup.

Alma will travel back to Michigan and prepare for conference action as they will face off next against Saint Mary's College on October 18th for Senior Day at Scotland Yard. The weekend matchup is set for a 1:00 PM kickoff.
