Grand Rapids, MI – Alma College Swimming took part in the MIAA Relay Invite on Friday night. No team scores were kept as a variety of different relays were contested.
For the women, Alma's 200 medley relay team of
Sofia Floros,
Lily Smith,
Emma Figlewicz, and
Laney Voisinet combined to clock a 2:01.31. Voisinet and Floros teamed with
Grace Ludema and
Megan Neeley to take 6
th in the 500-yard progressive free relay. Neeley and Floros were together again with
Madilynn Mendez to take 4
th in the 3x500 yard freestyle relay. The mixed 200 medley featured Neeley and Smith on the women's side. Neeley, Smith, and Floros added
Kylie Demarets to complete a 200 free relay that took 9
th place.
On the men's side,
Ryan Gray,
Brent Riehl,
Max Nielsen, and
Andrew Barrett opened the meet with a 10
thplace finish in the 200-medley relay.
Ryan Fowler,
Kyle Scheck,
Owen Reed, and
Eli Mull took 7
th in the 500 yard progressive freestyle relay. Riehl and Reed made up the back half of the mixed 200 medley relay, which took 7
th. Mull, Fowler, and
Seth Stahl picked up the top result of the evening for the Scots, placing 3
rd in the 3x500 yard freestyle relay. Closing out the meet, Stahl, Barrett, Nielsen, and Fowler took 11
th in the 200 freestyle relay.
Alma has a week to prep for their MIAA dual meet opener on October 25, where the Scots will take on Hope College and The University of Olivet in Holland, MI.
