DAYTONA BEACH, FL—Alma College Dance Team competed in NDA National Finals after both of their prelims performance earned them a spot in today's competition.
The Scots came out on top in the Division III Jazz Division with a score of 93.3714. They had zero deductions on the performance. This was also the highest jazz score in program history! The Scots held on to the first-place spot from prelims to finals, beating 2nd place UW-La Crosse by 4.0857 points.
This is the 7th National Title that Alma College Dance has brought home in their 7th year of existence.
The Scots also competed their Team Performance Routine in the Open category and earned the runner up national title. This year, Alma's team routine competed in the Open category, which combines Division III and Junior/Community Colleges. Alma had a whole new set of competition this year. After placing 4th at prelims, the Scots fought hard to rise up to 2nd place. They only missed the top spot by 1.84 points. Their final score was 90.025 and they had no deductions on the routine.
