Rhodes jumped out to an early lead as they scored three unanswered goals in the first three minutes of the game. Alma found their footing and was able to apply some pressure with an Aaron Zettel goal to bring the game within two. Alma would use the momentum from the Zettel goal to apply some more pressure on the Lynx after Byron Weber took a shot that was able to sneak by the goalie and bring the Scots within one. Rhodes responded quickly with two goals to increase their lead again. Alma would not give up without a fight as the offense found an open look for Haden Johnson to score from a pass by Ezra Leppanen. The Scots were held scoreless in the second and the Lynx added six goals to head into half with a 16-3 lead.
Returning from halftime, Alma ended the scoring drought on a goal from MJ Humphreys less than three minutes into the quarter. Rhodes would answer back with a goal of their own but Alma kept the pressure on taking advantage of a man-up opportunity with a goal from Johnson, his second of the game. Johnson would add a third goal for the game at the end of the third quarter on a nice play from Kevin Koenn, sending the Scots into the fourth quarter trailing 20-6.
In the fourth, Rhodes scored an early goal to increase their lead but long stick midfielder and defender Joey Allen found himself racing down the field in transition and was able to send one past the goalie to give the Scots their seventh goal of the game. Rhode would end up tacking on a few more goals and the Scots would end their spring break trip going 1-1 with positives looking forward to the rest of the season.
