Men's Lacrosse Defeated by Unbeaten Hope

ALMA, Mich. – Hosting their final home game of the season, the Alma College men's lacrosse team welcomed the Flying Dutchmen of Hope College to town for an afternoon contest on Saturday, April 11th. The Scots were disposed of by a final score of 27-1. 

Hope opened the contest with a nine-goal first quarter to take a healthy lead. The Flying Dutchmen added another four goals to start the second quarter, expanding their led to 13 before the Scots were able to notch their lone goal. Elias Rakoczy was able to put the Scots on the board with 11 minutes left in the second, bringing the deficit to 12. Hope added another six to take a 19-1 lead into the break.

Opening the second half play, Hope scored an additional three goals in the third before tagging on another five in the fourth to seals the deal and stayed perfect on the season at 13-0, heading out of Alma.

Nine Scots players tied with one ground ball for the game while Connor Cracium, Brenner Quick, Caleb Morgan and Maddox Mozal all registered one caused turnover. Preston Stelljes played 35 minutes between the pipes, making 14 saves, while Gaven Atkins filled in the remaining 25 minutes with six saves.

Alma will look to their final regular season game on Friday, April 17th, as they will travel to Trine University for a 7:00 PM game under the lights.
