Men's Lacrosse Stifled by Bulldogs

ADRIAN, Mich. – Traveling south in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play, the Alma College men's lacrosse team matched up with the Adrian College Bulldogs on Wednesday, April 8th. The Scots fell behind early and were unable to overcome their deficit, dropping a conference contest to the Bulldogs, 19-1. 

Adrian popped out to an early lead scoring six goals in the first and another four in the second from six different players, taking a 10-0 lead into the halftime break. Preston Stelljes played the first half and some action in the third, making seven saves before Gaven Atkins took over between the pipes. Adrian added another six goals in the third, taking a 16-0 lead heading into the final 15 minutes. The Bulldogs added two goals early on before Alma scored their lone goal of the contest from Lucas Storm. Adrian added a final additional tally for hand the Scots their fourth conference loss of the season. 

Cuyler Fielhauer and Blake Swiger both tied for the team-high ground balls with four. Caleb Morgan again led the Scots with three caused turnovers, for the second straight game. Curtis Pleiness and Cameron kohl both recorded two as well. Atkins, in relief, made six saved in 25 minutes of play.

Alma will return to Bahlke Field for their final home game of the season on Saturday, April 11th, against the Hope College Flying Dutchmen. Faceoff is projected for 1:00 PM.
