Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. – The Alma College men's lacrosse team grabbed a win against Earlham College on Saturday, April 2, for a final score of, 15-7. Alma improves to 4-5 on the season.
Alma kept the lead and ran with it in the first few minutes of play with an assist from Kevin Koenn to Haden Johnson followed by a pass from Byron Weber to Anar Tumurbaatar for a 2-0 start.
The second quarter was continued by Johnson with an assist from Kendrick Rhines. Earlham found the back of the net with 10 minutes in the second quarter but Ezra Leppanen responded with a goal assisted by Drew Gulick. Earlham added one more point to the board and Alma found three more from Leppanen, Gulick, and Johnson for a halftime score of 7-2.
Earlham added two goals to Alma's three in the third quarter from Weber, Leppanen, and Johnson, 10-4.
Earlham scored three times in the final quarter but the Scots continued the lead with five goals in the fourth quarter. Koenn added two while Lucas Gratz, Johnson, and Leppanen each added one for a final score of, 15-7.
Johnson led the team with six points off five goals and one assist. Leppanen followed close behind with five points off four goals and one assist. Rhines had three caused turnovers and goalies Thomas Burns and Parker Macco each had one save in the cage. Alma went 12-14 for clears and had 41 groundballs.
