ALMA, Mich. — The Alma College Men's Lacrosse team held its home-opener on Saturday, Feb. 19, against Ohio Northern University. The Scots fell to the Polar Bears, 13-4. 

Ohio Northern started off the game with back-to-back goals, but Drew Gulick responded with an unassisted goal. The Polar Bears found three more open spots on the net to end the first quarter at, 5-1. The second quarter started with a goal from Kevin Koenn, assisted by Haden Johnson. Ohio Northern added three more goals to the board before the half. 

The third quarter was kicked off with two goals from Ohio Northern. Ezra Leppanen scored off an assist from Gulick. The Polar Bears added one more goal before the final minutes of play. The fourth quarter started off with another goal from Leppanen, assisted by Evan Zarotney. Ohio Northern found two more goals in the final minute of play for a final score of 13-4. 

Leppanen and Gulick led the Scots with two points each and goalie Parker Macco posted 17 saves on the day.  

Next, Alma heads to Wabash on Wednesday, Feb. 23, for their next competition.
