Bluffton, OH – Alma Men's Basketball hit the road to continue their non-conference slate on Tuesday.

The contest was tight throughout, with neither team able to pull away. Alma held the lead for most of the first half, as the teams traded buckets. The Scots led by as much as 5, but couldn't pull away from a Beaver squad that just refused to go away.  At the break, the Scots lead was just 2 points.

The second half saw both offenses open up, as the teams found new ways to score. Alma continued to hold the lead, and looked like they might pull away on several occasions as the game went on. The Scots were able to push the lead up to 7 three times, but Bluffton continued to hang around and wouldn't let Alma go. The Scots were able to utilize the bonus to finally push the lead up to 9 points, and a Nate Deyman three from way beyond the arc acted as the dagger, and put the game out of reach.

The Scots were working from downtown, shooting 12-25 from beyond the arc. Alma also won the rebounding battle 37-29.

Connor Riley led the offensive charge, scoring 20 points with 5 rebounds and 3 assists to go with 2 steals. Nate Deyman had it going from deep, shooting 4-6 from three point range on the way to a 14 point performance with 4 boards and 2 assists. Landen Moore-Pierce filled the stat sheet with 13 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Defensively, Colton Meister racked up 3 blocks as well as 6 rebounds and 6 points.

Alma improves to 2-1, and will be on the road once again on Saturday at Oberlin College.
