Men's Basketball Rounds Up Season at The University of Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. – The Alma College men's basketball team wrapped up their 2024-25 season on Saturday, February 22nd, at The University of Olivet, for their final regular season game. The Scots were dispatched by a final score of 85-69.

The beginning minutes proved to be a fight in the regular season finale as both teams traded the lead early on. Olivet would extend their lead to six points just under ten minutes into the game before a three-pointer by Aidan Judsen and some free throws by Joss Bradley brought the game within one again. The Comets would try to pull away quickly again but a three from Paul Gadde brought the lead back down to one with seven minutes left in the first. A 9-0 run by the Comets over a three-minute span would give Alma their first double-digit deficit of the night, where it would hang about as the first half came to a close.

Both teams opened the second half trading baskets and stops as the lead would hang around the ten point mark, before Olivet was able to increase their lead to 17. The Scots would not back down they were able to piece together their own 10-0 run in just over a minute to bring the Comet lead back down to single-digits. The Comets though would respond with a 14-0 run, in a game where momentum would swing freely, putting the Scots behind by 21. The final five minutes of the game saw both teams again trade baskets as the Olivet lead would not falter more than a point or two, sending the Scots home with a loss, 85-69.

Jeremy Rosario led the Scots with 14 points, followed by Gadde with 11 points for the senior. Donovan Collins led Alma with seven rebounds throughout the game, as well as Raine Rodich tallied a team-high three assists. Josh Elliott recorded a game-high two blocks in the contest as well.

Alma will graduate three seniors, Judsen, Gadde and Seth Bradford, come this April. The Scots will look to learn from mistakes this season and use their experience on a young team to build towards next season over the coming months.
