Box Score ALMA, Mich. – The Alma College men's lacrosse team fell, 16-10, to the Albion College Britons in the Scots' home opener today. The Scots drop to 0-3 while Albion moves to 1-0 on the year.
Alma got out of the gates quick with three-straight scores to go up 3-0. Albion responded with a run of its own to tie things up. Connor Alley put the Scots in front late in the first to go up, 5-4.
The Scots would not score again until the third quarter as they trailed by as many seven at one point. Alma cut into the deficit but could not come all the way back as they fell to a tough Albion team.
Haden Johnson had an outstanding day with five goals and two assists for a seven-point day. Alley posted four points with two goals and two assists.
In ground balls, Byron Weber led the team with six while Aaron Zettel picked up four. Connor Gilbert and Josh Holmes each caused two turnovers. Parker Macco made nine saves in net.
The Scots have a couple days off before they welcome Adrian College for a 7 p.m. tilt on Tuesday.
