Box Score LAKE BARRINGTON, Ill. – The Alma College men's lacrosse team dropped one to Benedictine University on Friday by a score of 15-9 at the Canlan Sportsplex. The Scots drop to 0-2 on the young season while Benedictine starts its season off at 1-0.
The Scots went down early and found themselves trailing by four heading into halftime. Alma would make up some ground in the third quarter with three-straight goals to finish off the frame and settle the score at 10-8 in favor of Benedictine heading into the fourth and final quarter.
In the fourth, Benedictine was too strong as it increased its lead early and finished it off by scoring the final three goals of the game.
Connor Alley, Ezra Leppanen, and Anar Tumurbaatar each had three-point games with two goals and one assist a piece. Haden Johnson, Trevor Bailey, and Byron Weber also found the back of the net for the Scots. Parker Macco made 17 saves in net.
Leppanen, Weber, and Macco each led the team with four ground balls. Evan Zarotney posted a team-high two caused turnovers.
Alma now prepares for its home opener on Saturday, February 27th when it hosts Adrian College at 1 p.m.
