Box Score Albion, Mich. - The Alma College men's lacrosse team had its three-game winning streak snapped at Albion College on Saturday (April 16) afternoon, falling to the host Britons, 18-10. The Scots fell to 8-4 overall and are now 2-1 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association after suffering their first conference loss.
Freshman Jared Nycz (Elma, N.Y./Iriquois) and senior Marshall Argenta (Stafford, N.Y./Notre Dame) each scored three goals, while freshman Jake Ellens (Cadillac, Mich./Cadillac) and sophomore Austen Irrer (Midland, Mich./Midland) added a pair of goals each.
Albion built up a 6-1 lead after the first quarter and held a 14-4 advantage at the half. In the third quarter, the Scots closed the gap with four goals, including two by Ellens and Nycz.
Senior Al Lesperance (Farmington, Mich./Farmington) made seven saves on 21 shots and was relieved by freshman Cam Stelljes (Okemos, Mich./Okemos), who played the second half and stopped eight of the 12 shots he faced.
Alma will return to Bahlke Field on Wednesday, April 20, to host Hope College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
