Box Score With a share of the MIAA regular season championship on the line, the Alma College Men's Lacrosse team welcomed league-leading Albion College to campus for a game at Bahlke Field. The Scots would struggle in the regular season finale, dropping the 20-6 decision to the Britons on Saturday.
"Well, I can honestly say that was not the game we were hoping it would be," said Alma Head Coach Michael Kinney. "We had a tough day at the office today and Albion capitalized on every mistake we made."
"This loss doesn't diminish our success this year and our men have raised the bar all season long. Today just wasn't our day. We finish the regular season with some amazing positives like two win streaks of three games each and a four-game winning streak in conference that helped us capture a third place finish in the MIAA."
"We set a lot of goals this year and we've reached most of them. I'm not sure playing for a share of first place was on our to do list, but it will be from now on. Couldn't be more proud of these young men and their commitment to this program."
With the loss, Alma finishes the regular season with an 11-5 record and 4-2 mark in the MIAA. The Scots will enter the MIAA Tournament for the first time in program history as the third seed and will take on second-seeded Adrian College on April 29. The Bulldogs got the better of the Scots earlier this season in a thrilling 10-9 affair at Bahlke Field.
