Box Score The Alma College Men's Lacrosse team hosted Calvin College on Tuesday evening and earned the program's first victory. The Scots defeated the Knights by a score of 4-2 to improve to 1-10 in their inaugural season. Calvin, still a club team by definition, fell to 0-8 in 2012.
We came out ready to play tonight, the guys were prepared for this game and really looking forward to getting back on our home field," said Alma Head Coach Jason Levesque. "The entire team battled from start to finish, creating opportunities, forcing turnovers in transition, and making defensive stops when needed. Tonight was a great win for the Scots lacrosse program, our parents who've supported us so well all year and for Alma College. I'm very proud of each member of this young team."

In the second half, Calvin tied the game at 1-1 at 5:32 in the third period, but the Scots answered just three minutes later, when Fr. M Cole Mulder (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) scored at 5:01 for a lead that the home team would not give up the rest of the game.
Mulder scored two more goals in the fourth period to give the Scots a 4-1 advantage, and even though Calvin added a goal with 58 seconds remaining, Alma was able to hold on to the 4-2 victory. Fr. GK Daric Mueller (Dewitt, Mich./Dewitt) had seven saves for the Scots in the win.
The Scots will host Oberlin College on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Bahlke Field.
