Box Score On a beautifully sunny and warm Saturday afternoon in Alma, the Men's Lacrosse team hosted their first-ever home game in program history at Bahlke Field. The Scots took on a much more established Hope College program and the dropped a 19-1 decision to the Flying Dutch.
"Even though the final score was not what we wanted, today was a big day for Alma College athletics," said Athletic Director John Leister. "The weather was fantastic, we had an energetic crowd in the stands, and I can't think of a better way to launch a new athletic program. The wins will come, but today was about celebrating the dawn of our lacrosse team."

The Scots fell behind early, as the visitors from Hope scored 56 seconds into the game and never looked back, en route to a 7-0 advantage after the first quarter. The Flying Dutch increased their lead to 12-0 at halftime with five more tallies in the second quarter.
Hope led 15-0 when Alma was finally able to get on the board in the third quarter. Fr. A Matthew Gillespie (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) scored unassisted at 3:58 to record the home team's lone goal on the afternoon.

The Scots are now 0-8 on the season and will play next Saturday against Ohio Valley University (WV) and then against Bethany (WV) on Sunday.
