SHEPHERD, Mich. – The Alma College cross country program began the "Gould"en era on the right foot as the men's side earned a bronze-worthy third place while the women were fifth in their new Head Coach's Scots debut.

Scots' Top Performers:

• Men
  • Shae Armstrong was the highlight of the morning for the Scots as he sprinted his way to the highest finish of all Alma runners at 17th, blazing his trail to the speed of 16:13.8.
  • Next to cross the line was Luke Mulka approximately a minute later at 17:22.6 (39th) followed closely behind by Felix Ramirez in 17:30.2 (41st) and Ethan Shroat via a 17:32.0 (42nd).
  • Benjamin Dickieson (17:46.6) recorded a 47th place allotment whereas Jace Thomas (17:46.9) wound up one spot behind him at 48th, with Jonathan Carballido the final point producer for AC in 56th (18:12.8).
• Women
  • Chloe Colton claimed the top spot for the ladies as she registered a time of 6:30.3 to earn 39th place.
  • Her teammates Lauren Brawt (6:37.7), Erica Slocum (6:41.0), and Rebecca Dean (6:45.9) all slotted themselves inside the top-50 at 44th, 46th, and 49th, respectively.
  • Megan Gimmey's 6:51.8 (52nd), Melanie Werner's 6:52.1 (53rd), and Calla Armstrong's 23:28.1 (82nd) marks rounded out the scorers for the Maroon and Teal.

• Both sets of runners return to the course in two weeks for the Lansing Invitational on the morning of September 18.
