LANSING, Mich. — This morning, Alma College Cross Country competed in the Capital City for the Lansing Community College Invitational, their second meet of the 2026 season. The Scots continue to show progress as the season unfolds, with strong performances across both teams.

The women's team placed third overall in the 5000 Meter race. They scored 107, just five points behind second-place Grand Rapids Community College. 
 
Senior Chloe Colton led the Scots in 12th place with a time of 20:14.12. She was followed by senior Lauren Brawt (20:52.6), junior Melanie Werner (20:59.1), freshman Rebecca Dean (21:12.2), and senior Erica Slocum (21:55.7).
 
For the Men's 8000 Meter, the team finished sixth overall, with underclassmen leading the way. Freshman Shea Armstrong finished in 12th place clocking a 27:05.1. He was followed by freshman Jace Thomas (29:09.2), sophomore Felix Ramirez (29:16.2), senior Benjamin Dickieson (29:29.2), and junior Jonathon Carballido (29:34.3).
 
Up next, the Scots head to Upland, Indiana on October 9 for the Ray Bullock Invitational at Taylor University.
