No. 2 STUNT Closes Regular Season with Wins Over Mercyhurst and Purdue Northwest

Alma won 27-7 and 31-8 on Sunday

Alma, MI – Alma College STUNT was in action on Sunday, taking part in day three of the Alma College STUNT Tournament. The nationally ranked Scots defeated Division I Mercyhurst University, before defeating Purdue University Northwest in their regular season finale.
 
Alma 27, Mercyhurst 7
 Alma opened the game by winning on routine three, within two deductions. The Scots took routine seven outright, and won routine one within two, before taking routine six. Alma led 6-2 at the end of the first. Opening the second, Alma won routine two within two, before a no-point on routine eight. The Scots once again flipped an MU call, winning routine one within two, before scoring on routine six to take an 11-4 lead into the half.
 
Out of halftime, the Scots scored on routine six again. Leading by eight, Alma won routine one within two, before scoring on routines four and two to push the lead to 11 at the end of three quarters. In the fourth quarter, the Scots tied routine seven 1-1, and won routine one 4-1, before sweeping routines five and three to close out the game. The final score rested at 27-7 in favor of the home team.
 
Alma 31, Purdue Northwest 8
 
In their regular season finale, Alma opened the game by winning routine five outright. After winning routine one within two, the Scots scored on routines six and two to lead 5-1 after the first. The second quarter opened with a no-point on routine eight, but Alma responded by winning routine one within two. Closing out the half, Alma scored on routines five and three. The Scots lead was 9-2 after two quarters.
 
Out of halftime, the Scots collected points within two on routines four and two, and won routines five and six outright. Alma led 15-4 heading into the final period. In the fourth quarter, the Scots won routine one 5-2, routine four 4-1, routine two 4-1, and finished things off with a sweep of routine three. The final score was 31-8 Scots.
 
Alma finishes the regular season at 10-2, and awaits their seeding in the national tournament.
