Alma, MI – The nationally ranked Alma College STUNT team was in action on Friday evening, hosting a pair of games to kick off their home tournament. The Scots were big winners on the day, defeating nationally ranked opponents in East Stroudsburg and Central Michigan.
Alma 24, ESU 1
The Scots controlled the opening game of the tournament from the jump. Alma scored outright on routines five, three, and one in the opening quarter. The Scots led 3-0 after one, and increased the lead by converting on routines four, five, and eight to open the second quarter. Alma won routine two within two deductions, and led 8-1 at halftime. Alma was perfect out of the half, scoring on routines six, seven, five, and four in the third quarter, and sweeping routines five, six, two, and four in the fourth quarter. The final score read 24-1 in Alma's favor.
Alma 23, Central Michigan 3
In game two, Alma raced out to a 3-0 lead, scoring on routines three, five, and one before a no-point on routine eight saw the quarter end with the Scots up 3-0. In the second quarter, Alma scored on routines three and six, before CMU took routine two within two deductions to make it 6-2. The Scots took the final point on routine four, and led 7-2 at the half. Out of halftime, Alma swept the third quarter, scoring on routines seven, four, five, and three to lead 11-2 after three quarters. The fourth quarter opened with Alma sweeping routine five. The Scots collected a 4-1 margin on routine three, a 2-0 score on routine seven, and a sweep of routine one to close things out. The final score was 23-3.
