MARSHALL, Mich. – Enjoying the summer-like conditions heading into early October, the Alma College women's golf team took part in the second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree of the year. The Scots finished in eighth on the day with a total of 347 strokes (+59) at The Medalist Golf Club, hosted by The University of Olivet.
Coming away as the low Scots scorer was Katelyn Jacot, who finished her round with an 81 (+9), placing her in a tie for 16th place. Jacot also tapped in one birdie on the day. Alma's next finisher was Sarah Ream, who tied for 35th overall with an 86 (+12). Ream's scorecard included two birdies for her round. Closely behind, Jada Zerlaut finished her day with a 90 (+18), which included a birdie. Zerlaut finished in a tie for 43rd in the field. Leea Gorman also finished tied for 43rd with a 90 as well. Addison Wressel closed out tournament with a 96 (+24), placing her in 51st overall for the day. Playing as the individual, Kelbi Roman finished in 54th, shooting a 102 (+30) over her round.
Finishing as the low team, Saint Mary's College took the top honors shooting a team score of 312 (+24), closely beating out Trine University by four shots and Hope college by five. On the players side of the results, Rachael Jones, Jillian Smith and Melanie Maier all tied for medalist, scoring 73s (+1), ahead of the nearest competitor by two shots.
Alma will now have some time off before hosting the MIAA Jamboree #3 on Monday, October 6th, at Pine River Country Club. Afternoon tee times are set for 1:00 PM in Alma, Michigan.
