Ream Takes Medalist Honors as Women's Golf Finishes Top Three at Irish Hills Intercollegiate

TECUMSEH, Mich. – A damp morning blossoming into a sunny September Saturday paved the way to a Scot atop the leader board at the Irish Hills Intercollegiate hosted by Adrian College. Sarah Ream came away with medalist honors following her tournament score of 158 (+14), the only golfer in the field to score two days in the 150's. Ream flowed her impressive 76 on day two with an 82 (+10), proving to be enough for first place by two strokes over Savana Smith of Adrian College.

Katelyn Jacot finished just outside the top ten for the Scots as she put together a second-round score of 86 (+14) again, for a total of 172 (+28), finishing tied for 11th. Addison Wressell finished just behind her teammate with a second round of 90 (+18), bringing her total to 175 (+31), good for a tie for 15th. Leea Gorman finished just outside the top 20 as she pieced together a 91 (+19) on day two, bringing her tournament score to 181 (+37), tying for 23rd. Jada Zerlaut finished round two with a 99 (+27) for a weekend sum of 193 (+49), finishing in 37th overall. Kelbi Roman finished one spot behind in 38th after a second day score of 95 (+23) for a tournament total of 195 (+51) as an individual. McKenzie McManus rounded out the Scots in 42nd overall, finishing her final round with a 100 (+28) for a total of 206 (+62), also as an individual.

Wittenberg came away as the team champions with a tournament total of 663 (334-329), edging out St. Norbert by eight shots and the Scots by 23. Alma finished two shots ahead of host Adrian and fellow conference opponent as well.

The women will continue non-conference play next weekend on Friday and Saturday as they travel across the lake to Wisconsin for a two-day tournament hosted by Benedictine University. Tee time for round one is set for 8:30 AM CT.
