FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Alma College women's soccer team traveled to the familiar state of Indiana where they have been spending day trips in on Wednesday, September 10th, for a road contest with the Grizzlies of Franklin College. The Scots got off the bus and took the lead as soon as possible to grab their fourth win of the year by a final score of 2-0.

As stated above, the Scots got the ball rolling early and took advantage by scoring the game's first goal just 47 seconds into play. Emily Ahearn found Anna Waterstredt's feet, setting her up and placing the ball into the back of the net to open the scoring up and put the Scots into the driver's seat. A handful of corner kicks would come about for Alma, but the rest of the first half quieted down as both teams created several shot attempts. 

The Scots found more success striking early coming out of the break as Ahearn again found Waterstredt pacing down the field and able to get behind the defense. Waterstredt buried the ball again in the back of the net for Alma's second goal and doubling the Scots lead. Following the tally, Alma continued to keep the pressure up for a majority of the remainder of the half, as the Scots moved to 4-1 and picked up their third road victory of the year. 

Behind Waterstredt and Ahearn's impressive outing, Mya Pofahl kept a clean sheet between the pipes registering four saves for the game and her second shutout of the season. 

Alma will return home and prepare for a Sunday contest on September 14th, as they will host the Crusaders of Madonna University. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
