Ream Finishes T11 as Women's Golf Improves on Day Two at IU East

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Alma College women's golf team concluded their opening tournament of the 2025-26 season on Saturday, August 30th in Indiana. The Scots improved on the team leader board moving up one spot to sixth, while shooting the same team score as day one with another 342 (+54), for a weekend total of 684 (+108).

Sarah Ream came away as the top Alma finisher, falling just outside the top ten, tying for 11th overall. Ream shot a day two score of 82 (+10) for a tournament total of 158 (+14). Jada Zerlaut came in next for the Scots with a day two score of 83 (+11), giving her a two-day score of 172 (+28). Zerlaut would finish the weekend tied for 35th in the field. Just two shots behind for the tournament was Katelyn Jacot, shooting an improved 85 (+13) on day two. Jacot ended the tournament with a score of 174 (+30), placing her in 37th place. Playing the weekend as the individual, Kelbi Roman rounded out day two with an 85 (+13), giving her a two-day total of 175 (+31) to finish in a tie for 38th. Coming in next for the Scots was Leea Gorman, who posted a 92 (+20) on day two, bringing her tournament score to a 180 (+36) and finishing in 47th for the tournament. Addison Wressell rounded out the Scots scoring with a 93 (+21) on day two, for weekend total of 182 (+38). Wressell placed 49th in the field at the first tournament of the season for the Scots.

Jalyn Bruns of IU East came out as the Individual champion for the two-day tournament, shooting 150 (+6) over the two rounds. Bruns came out as champion by two shots over Rylee Smith of Trine University who finished with a 152 (+8). IU East also came away as the team champions with a two-day total of 622 (+46), six shots ahead of Grace College (IN) overall. Fellow MIAA competitor Trine finished in fifth, one place ahead of the Scots in the standings. 

The women will be back in action on Friday, September 12th, as they will compete at the Irish Hills Invitational, hosted by Adrian College. The Two-day event has a starting time of 11:00 AM for both rounds on Friday and Saturday.
