Notre Dame, IN – Alma College STUNT took to the road on Saturday, taking part in the Crossroads Rumble hosted by Saint Mary's College. The Scots swept both games, defeating Purdue Northwest 24-1 and Central Michigan 23-2.
#2 Alma 24, Purdue Northwest 1
The Scots tied the opening routine of the game, routine 2, before breaking the 1-1 tie on the next routine. Alma's victory on that call 3 kickstarted a 23-0 scoring run for the Scots, who scored the maximum possible 24 points in the win. Alma led 8-1 at halftime, and powered through a third quarter sweep to take a 12-1 lead into the fourth. The game was clinched when the Scots swept fourth quarter 2 to lead 15-1. Alma went on to win by a final of 24-1.
#2 Alma 23, Central Michigan 2
In game two, Alma jumped out to a 4-0 lead, after scoring on calls of 1,3,5, and 2 in the first quarter. CMU took their first point of the game on the opening routine of the second quarter, routine 5. Alma took the next two points, and the teams tied out the last call of the half, sending the Scots to the break with a 7-2 lead. The Scots went on to max out the third quarter, and the fourth quarter as well. En route to the win, the second half highlight was Alma sweeping a call 6 in the fourth quarter.
Alma moves to 5-1, and looks forward to hosting the Alma College STUNT Tournament next weekend.
