AUGUSTA, Mich. – Continuing along with conference play, the Alma College women's golf team traveled to Gull Lake West golf course for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #3 on Monday, October 6th. At the tournament hosted by Kalamazoo College, the Scots finished in eighth with a team score of 348 (+56).
Sarah Ream came away as the low scorer for Alma, finishing with an 80 (+7), which placed her tied for 11th place in the field. Addison Wressel and Katelyn Jacot were the Scots next finishers, scoring 89's (+16), which tied them for 40th overall. Just a shot behind was Leea Gorman, shooting a 90 (+17), tying for 45th in the tournament. Another shot behind was Jada Zerlaut, who closed out her round with a 91 (+18), placing in a tie for 47th for the tournament. Competing as nan individual and not counting towards the team score was Kelbi Roman, shooting an 88 (+15), finishing in a tie for 35th place overall.
Rylee Smith of Trine University was the low individual score for the day with a two-under 71, finishing one-shot ahead of Amanda Melling from Saint Mary's College. Saint Mary's came away as the team champions with a score of 312 (+20), finishing ahead of Albion College and Trine University by seven shots.
Alma will now look towards hosting the MIAA Jamboree #4 on Saturday, October 11th at Pine River Country Club. Tee time for the tournament is set to begin at 1:00 PM.
