OLIVET, Mich. – On the road on a brisk Saturday in October, the Alma College women's soccer team traveled to Olivet, Michigan for a contest with the Comets of The University of Olivet. The Scots broke a skid they had been on with a 6-0 win over the Comets.
It was all Alma from the beginning as the Scots applied offensive pressure from the opening kick, putting three shots on net before tallying their first of the afternoon. Brenna Rohloff netted the Scots first at the 18-minute mark. Just three minutes later, Grace Sczepanski set up Emily Ahearn for her first of the day to put the Scots up 2-0. Keeping the pressure up on offense, the Scots were awarded a penalty kick just ten minutes later as Aubri Torok was fouled in the box. Torok would capitalize on the opportunity giving the Scots a 3-0 lead, which they would take into the half break.
Six minutes out of the half, Bryn Bishop set up Ahearn for her second of the game, extending the Alma lead to 4-0 just over 50 minutes through competition. The Scots would add another from Anna Waterstredt at the 23-minute mark in the second half before scoring their final tally from Aaleyah Marcellus with ten minutes to play in action. The Scots held the Comets to seven total shots, five of which were on target.
Min Coulombe got the nod for the Scots between the posts, making five saves in the contest during the full 90. Ahearn led all players with four points as Rohloff, Waterstredt, Marcellus and Torok all notched two points, Bishop and Sczepanski each recorded one point in the game as well.
Alma will return to play on Tuesday, October 28th, as they will travel to Albion College for a game under the lights for the final regular season matchup of the season.
