KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The Alma College women's golf team traveled southwest to Wisconsin, to take part in the Midwest Region Classic, hosted by Benedictine University. Over the course of two days, the Scots shot 353 (+65) on day one and 345 (+57) on day two for a tournament total of 698. The Scots finished in 20th out of 33 total teams. 

Freshman Sarah Ream again led the Scots with a weekend total of 166. In her first round, Ream fired an 85 (+13) and improved on day two with an 81 (+9), which ended up placing her in a tie for 59th out of 190 golfers. Lydia Back was Alma's next finisher shooting an 88 (+16) on day one and rebounding with an 82 (+10) on day two. Back finished 74th in the field with a two-day total of 170. Jada Zerlaut stayed consistent over the weekend, firing two 87's (+15) en route to a tournament total on 174, placing in a tie for 93rd. Charliese Erickson finished day on with a 93 (+21) and day two with a 95 (+23), totaling 188 strokes on the weekend. Erickson would end up placing tied for 141st. Katelyn Jacot ended up shooting a 100 (+28) on day on followed by a 112 (+40) on day two for a tournament total of 212, tying for 172nd. Competing as the Individual for the weekend was Kelbi Roman, who made her collegiate debut. In her first round, she shot a 96 (+24), followed by a second-round score of 97 (+25), for a weekend total of 193, tying for 154th overall. 

On the individual side of action, Morgan Hawkins from the University of Dubuque was crowned the medalist after a weekend score of 149 (+5), winning by two shots over Ashley Zook of California Lutheran University. Cal Lutheran also came away as the team champions posting a weekend score of 615 (+39), edging fellow California school, Occidental by seven shots.
 
Alma will return to the course on Tuesday, September 24th, as they will head to South Bend, Indiana, for the MIAA Jamboree #2, hosted by Saint Mary's College. Tee times are set to begin at 1:00 PM.
