Alma Records 1st Perfect Tournament in STUNT History, Wins 4th Straight National Title

St. Louis, MO – Alma College STUNT took part in STUNT Nationals on Saturday and Sunday in Missouri. The Scots defended their Division III National Title for the fourth consecutive year, and were crowned College STUNT Division III National Champions on Sunday following a 24-0 win over #2 Hiram College.

Entering the tournament as the #1 seed, Alma won their opening round contest 24-0 over #4 George Fox University, who were making their first STUNT Nationals appearance.

Later in the day, Alma registered their second shutout win, an identical 24-0 victory over #2 Hiram College. The two wins on Saturday sent Alma straight through to Sunday's national championship game.

The Scots awaited their opponent from the consolation bracket, which turned out to be Hiram. Alma clinched the title after the first routine of the fourth quarter, and went on to win the game 24-0.

The championship is the fourth in program history, and the fourth in a row for the Scots.

"I'm so proud of this team and the leadership of these seniors!" Said Head Cheer/STUNT Coach Michelle Sabourin "Completing a perfect national tournament was the icing on top of their incredible careers."

Sabourin's 2024 squad will go down as one of the best in program history. Alma tied its program record for wins in a season at 16, with 15 of those wins coming over ranked opponents. The Scots also recorded a program record ten shutouts in 2024, besting the 2019 Scots' record of six.

Alma also won the 2024 title with three perfect games, becoming the first team in College STUNT history to record a perfect tournament.

The Scots wrap up 2024 back on the throne they started defending in February, and looks forward to 2025.
