South Bend, IN – Alma College Women's Tennis continued MIAA play on Wednesday as they traveled to St. Mary's. The Scots were swept by the Belles, 9-0.
In doubles play, the #1 duo of
Kayla Weller and
Leah Wronikowski were felled 8-4 by the Belles pairing of Campbell and Demblans-Dechans.
Karly Kushner and
Jada Zerlaut dropped an 8-4 decision to the Kealy/Gardner pair at #2 doubles. #3 doubles was the team of
Holly Hall and
Annie Ross fell by a score of 7-6 to Gerner and Hunter of St. Mary's.
The Belles swept singles play as well. At #1 singles, Kushner was defeated by Campbell 6-2, 6-1. Wronikowski fell by scored of 7-6, 6-2 to Kealy at #2. Demblans-Dechans took down Weller at #3 singles 6-3, 6-3. Gardner defeated Zerlaut 6-1, 6-1 at #4 singles. Hall narrowly fell to Clearwater of the Belles by finals of 7-6, 3-6, 10-7. Finally Gerner dropped Ross 6-1, 6-1 at #6 singles to close out the match.
The Scots return home, and are set to take on Olivet on Tuesday.
