Alma College STUNT Becomes First Division III Program in History to Reach 100 Wins

Alma, MI – Alma College STUNT welcomed in Hope International University and Central Michigan for a pair of games on Sunday. Alma entered the day as the top ranked team in DIII STUNT. Hope International currently stands as the #2 in NAIA, and CMU the 7th ranked club STUNT team.
 
The Scots swept the day, with their second game carrying a special milestone. Alma College won their 100thgame with the win over Central. The Scots are the first program in STUNT history to win 100 games.

Alma and Hope International suited up for the first game of the day. The visitors came to play, and jumped out to a 3-2 lead after surrendering the opening point of the game to Alma on a call 7. Both teams kept the pressure up in the second quarter, with Hope scoring the opening point, before Alma rattled off three in a row, the last routine ending in a tie to see both sides in a 5-5 draw at the break.
 
Alma took firm hold of the game in the jumps and tumbling quarter. Routines 1,5,3, and 6 were called, with the Scots winning each one. The resulting 4-point lead helped Alma to take a commanding hold on the game after three quarters. The momentum carried through the final period, with Alma outscoring the Royals in every routine. After the first routine, a call 2, was scored 3-2 Alma, the Scots won the next round, routine 7, 3-0 to increase their lead to 8 and secure the game. The hosts pulled away to win 20-10.

Alma's second game was dominated by the home side. Alma jumped out to a 4-0 lead, increasing it to 8-0 at halftime. The lead continued to balloon throughout the third quarter, up to 12-0. History was sealed on the first routine of the third quarter. Routine 3 saw Alma pick up a 2-0 score and put the game out of reach. The Scots cruised to their milestone win via a 23-0 final score.
 
The Scots move to 8-1 on the season, and have a trip to Oklahoma on the books. Alma will see 4 ranked opponents from various divisions, including a pair of teams ranked at #2 in their respective class.
