Alma, MI – Alma College STUNT welcomed The University of Olivet and Michigan State University on Saturday. Alma opened Mid America East conference play with a shutout win over Olivet, and picked up a win over Michigan State to get back on the winning trail.

The Scots bounced back from Friday night's loss in a big way, and came out swinging from the gate. Alma jumped out to a 4-0 lead, and scored all 24 possible points en route to victory. Every routine number was called with the exception of routines 3 and 8. The win gets Alma off to a great start in MAE conference play. The Scots will host their remaining two conference opponents in March, as Alma looks to wrap up their second straight MAE conference title.

Alma turned around and took on Michigan State, who came in ranked as the number 3 club team in the country. The Scots hopped out to a 3-0 lead, to open the game, before MSU was able to snag a point on a call 6 to close the quarter with Alma up 3-1. The Scots swept the second quarter to take a 7-1 lead to the half.
Michigan State tied the home side on another call 6 to open the third quarter. Both teams scrapped to gain another point apiece on the next two routines, and Alma grabbed the final point to lead 10-3 heading to the final period. The teams each doubled their scores, with Alma winning every routine, and MSU scoring in 3 of the 4. The final score landed at 20-6.
The Scots look forward to next Sunday, when they host another pair of ranked opponents in Central Michigan University and Hope International University.
