The Alma College Women's Bowling team opened their season in the Dirty Bird Classic Saturday afternoon.
After the qualifying block of 3 games and 20 Baker games the Scots were in 6th place. The top 6 teams then went into a Bracket with the 1st and 2nd seed getting a bye. As a 6th seed Alma took on the 3rd seed which was Lourdes and beat them 2 straight games. In the next round they bowled Concordia. Alma lost game 1 and tied game 2 but couldn't get it done in the third game as they were knocked out of the tournament. On the day Hallie Weaver and Morgan smith were both in the top ten bowlers of the classic. "Overall, it was a good first tournament. We didn't qualify as well as we had hoped but we bowled really well in the bracket play. " says coach Kyle Woodcock.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday October 21 as they take on Cornerstone University.
