Cheer and Dance Advance to National Finals

DAYTONA BEACH, FL—Alma College's Dance and Cheerleading teams had a successful first day at Nationals down in Daytona Beach.

Alma Cheer placed first today after today's prelims. They compete in the Division III Advanced All-Girl category. Following behind them in second is currently Brenau University, with SUNY Cortland in third place.

They will preform tomorrow on the bandshell to compete for another National Title.

Alma Dance Team sent two routines to Nationals: jazz and team performance. They compete in the Open category for team performance, which gives them some different competitors than years past. In jazz, they compete in the Division III category. They currently hold the titles for their jazz and team routines from the 2022 nationals.

After today's prelims, they currently stand in fourth place for the team routine.

They currently lead the DIII Jazz category ahead of second place UW-La Crosse and third place UW-Oshkosh. They had zero deductions on their routine.

The Scots will preform tomorrow in the Ocean Center to compete for two more National Titles.
