Wyoming, MI – Alma College Tennis closed out their seasons at Grace Christian on Saturday. The Scots crushed the Tigers, with the men winning 8-0, and the women 9-0.
Men: Alma 8, Grace Christian 0
On the men's side, it was complete domination from Alma. The team only dropped a single game in the entire match.
In doubles action, Merrick Bay and Thomas Manko winning at #1 by a final of 8-0. At #2, Walker Michaels and Caleb Schuring won 8-0 as well. Jake Lasceski and Ashton Trnka won at #3 via walkover. Alma led 3-0 after doubles play.
Singles play saw more of the same, with August Sack winning 6-0, 6-0 at #1. At #2, Lasceski also picked up a 6-0, 6-0 decision. Trnka added another 6-0, 6-0 at #3 as well. Merrick Bay closed out his Alma career with a win at #4, 6-1, 6-0. Noah Festerling won at #5 via walkover. There was no match at #6 singles.
Women: Alma 9, Grace Christian 0
On the women's side, matches were a bit closer, but Alma still came out on top.
In doubles play, the team of Elizabeth Hill and Amanda Szymborski won with an 8-0 sweep. Kayla Weller and Jada Zerlaut won at #2, 8-7 after they won the tiebreaker 7-5. Holly Hall and Summer Stoldt combined to win 8-0 at #3 to make it 3-0 Alma.
It was more sweeping in singles play. Weller won at #1 vis a 6-2, 6-2 score line. Szymborski picked up a win as well at #2. She won 6-0, 7-6. At #3 Zerlaut won handily 6-0, 6-1. #4 Saw Hill pick up a 6-3, 6-1 decision. Stoldt swept 6-0, 6-0 at #5. Finally at #6, Mronwyn McAlindon won 6-3, 6-2.
Alma closes out 2022-23 with a pair of wins, and looks forward to 2023-24.
