Esports Earns Top Seed in Peach Belt Conference League of Legends After Undefeated Regular Season

Alma, MI - The Alma College League of Legends team has ended the Peach Belt regular season with an undefeated record for the first time in program history!

The team of Jackson Hall, Colin Kuhn, Tommy Guo, Jacob Wilburn and Joseph Bannon have been working tirelessly to make sure they have what it takes to be this year's champions as they head into playoffs.

Senior team captain, Jacob Wilburn had this to say about the team's success:

"Last semester, we had to put together a team that had not played very much together, and we were not able to perform how we wanted to, but we instead used that time to develop the team chemistry and experience that we needed to play well together. This semester, we joined the Peach Belt league, which has been notoriously difficult in the past, but the work that we put in last semester really showed this semester as we went 7-0 in the regular season! This is one of the best performances that the League team has had in the 4 years that I have been on the team, and I could not be happier about it. It is a goal of mine to be able to travel for Esports and this year we have a very good chance to go to South Carolina for the finals. Before I leave, I want to be able to lead the Alma League of Legends team to one more championship as a capstone to my Esports career."

Wilburn is currently leading the Scots with 105 eliminations heading into playoffs.

Coach Gaumond had this to say on the team's season so far:

"I couldn't be prouder of the work this team has put in this semester. They've come ready to compete, learn and improve every single practice this year and every member of the team is putting in solid time outside of the practice room to make sure they're ready for the task. The team's energy has been really great and I'm excited for the semi-finals."

As the 1 seed, Alma College will advance directly to the semi-finals of the Peach Belt tournament. The Scots will take on the winner of Kennesaw State University and USC Aiken.

Semi-Finals will take place Sunday the 19th at 5:00 PM.
