HIRAM, OH—The Scots were named the STUNT Mid America East Conference Champions after defeating Hiram College and Muskingum University.
Their first game of the day was against the Terriers of Hiram College, where the Scots won 23-4.
Alma opened the game on a strong note, taking all four points in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Hiram took one point in a tie of routine one, yet the Scots still scored four. Going into halftime, Alma led 8-1.
Hiram was able to grab another point in Quarter 3, beating Alma in routine three. The Scots took the three other points to keep their lead. Alma dominated the fourth and final quarter, 12-2. Alma was awarded all 12 points, and Hiram tied twice.
The second game of the day that confirmed the conference championship for the Scots was against Muskingum University. Alma was victorious with a final score of 24-0.
The Scots swept the entire game, not allowing Muskingum to score a single point. Throughout the game, the Fighting Muskies forfeited nine routines. In this instance, the other team still preforms against the standard, and in each of those cases, Alma was awarded the winning points.
The Scots were named conference champions and went undefeated in the Mid America Conference this season. It was also the end of the regular season. The Scots are now preparing for the DIII National Championship Tournament in Dallas, TX. April 27-29. They will be defending their 2021 and 2022 national titles.
Today's games improved the Scots record to 10-2.
