ALMA, MI—In the second day of their tournament, Alma went up against Cal Poly and Michigan State University and won both games.
Alma went up against DI Cal Poly in their first game of the day. They secured the lead in the first quarter, with a score of 3-2. The Scots tied the Mustangs in the second quarter, 3-3, leaving the score 6-5 at the half.
During the third quarter, the Scots increased the score gap once again, earning all four points and Cal Poly earning one. In the fourth quarter, Alma kept their lead and scored all 12 points from each routine. Cal Poly earned five points.
The final score was 22-11. This win brings the Scots record 7-2.
Game 2—Alma vs. Michigan State University
The Scots went up another DI opponent, Michigan State University, in their second game of the day. They swept the Spartans in Quarter 1, securing a 4-0 lead. They tied in the second quarter; each team being awarded three points. This left the score to 7-3 at the half.
In the third quarter, Alma scored three points, and Michigan State scored one. In the final quarter, Alma scored 10 points while MSU only scored 7. This kept the Scots in the lead for the game, with the final score being 20-11. This win improves the Scots record to 8-2.
The Scots are back in action March 11 at Hiram College to play Hiram and Muskingum University.
