ALMA, MI—The Scots travelled to Davenport University today to compete against Davenport University and Michigan State University. The Scots went 1-1, beating MSU.
The Scots started off Quarter 1 with a point on the board, but ultimately heading into the 2nd 3-1. They picked up three more points to tie the Quarter 2. The Scots tied two routines, won one, and lost one in the pyramids and tosses. The score heading into halftime was 6-4 Davenport.
Alma came up short once again in Quarter 3, with a 3-2 score. They won routines 5 and 6. In Quarter 4, routines three, one, and five were competed. The Scots fell one short with a Quarter 3 score of 9-8, leaving the final score to at 18-14 Davenport.
In the second game of the afternoon, the Scots were able to come out victorious against the Spartans. They started off strong in Quarter 1 with a 2-1 score, and tied the second quarter at 2-2.
Scots had the lead at 4-3 heading into halftime. They gained four more points in the third quarter, winning routines two and six, tying five and one. This allowed them to go into the final quarter ahead of MSU at 8-5.
In the fourth quarter, routines four, seven, and six were competed. The score of the final score was 10-5 with Alma on top. This secured their 18-10 win against MSU.
The Scots are back in action on Sunday, February 19th. They will travel to Oliver College to play the Comets and the Wolverines of U of M.
