Defiance, OH – Alma Men's Basketball was on the road on Wednesday to take on Defiance in non-conference action. The Scots were victorious by a final of 84-69, picking up their first win of the season.

Defiance jumped out to an early 8 point advantage at 11-3, and held the Scots at bay offensively for most of the first half. Still, Alma managed to force over 10 turnovers in the first half alone and keep the gap from getting any larger. At the break the visitors trailed by 7. Alma went on a tear out of the second half, and surged forward to take the lead at 48-45. Once the Scots grabbed the lead, they didn't let go of it. Alma. Pushed out in front by as far as 11 points before the game ended, with the final score standing at 84-69.

The Scots shot 44.4% from the field, besting Defiance, who shot just 20 of 56. Alma also forced 22 turnovers in the game, won the rebounding battle 39-37, and racked up 48 points in the paint to the host's 24.

Tyshaun Walker led the way with a game high 26 points to go with 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Also helping the head the charge was Connor Riley. He scored 22 while grabbing 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Landen Moore-Pierce scored 10 with 4 steals, and Peyton Bush added 9 points and a game high 9 rebounds.

Alma will be back in action on the road at Bluffton next week.
