Men's Basketball Ousted by Knights as Bradley Scores 16

ALMA, Mich. – Competing in their final midweek home game of the regular season, the Alma College men's basketball team took to the court against the Knights of Calvin University on Wednesday, February 18th. The Scots were outmatched by the Knights to a final score of 92-63.

Alma scored the game's first points and took the first lead at 7-4 over the Knights in the first three minutes of gameplay. Calvin then took the lead using a small offensive run to extend their lead to a couple possessions before Alma brought the game back to a two-point deficit at the 14-minute mark. Calvin would convert on offensive trips down the floor, but the Scots were holding strong and staying within reach throughout the middle of the first half. Calvin extended the lead to double figures around the eight-minute mark, where the Scots struggled to bring it back down within a couple possessions for the remainder of the half. Alma went into the half trailing the Knights 50-29 after the opening frame.

Alma matched the Knights scoring to begin the second half as the Calvin lead stayed stagnant as the Scots hoped to chip away and find defensive stops to string together. Around the halfway point of the second half, Calvin was able to extend their lead, where it would build and mostly stay for the remainder of the game as the Scots looked for answers against a tough Calvin defense that was ranked top ten to begin the season.

Joss Bradley was the Scots leading scorer with 16 points and three assists. Raine Rodich added nine and four rebounds while Josh Elliott and Korbin Heitzman each added eight points with six and seven rebounds each. Braadley also collected a team high three steals while the Scots bench recorded 29 points in the game.

Alma will now host their regular season finale on Saturday, February 21st, as the host Kalamazoo College for Senior Day. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
