Olivet, Mich. - The Alma College women's tennis fell to the Olivet College Comets in a close match on Sunday (Apr. 18) 5-4. The Scots won one doubles match and three singles matches but the Comets were able to hold on for the win.
In doubles action, Alexis Hereza and Madeline Kugler were able to win at number three doubles. The pair defeated their Olivet opponents 8-3.
Kugler was also victorious at number five singles in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5. Hereza would win her match in straight sets as well, 6-3, 6-2. The other winner for the Scots was Elizabeth Hill at number two singles. After falling in the first set 6-3, Hill would take the final two sets 6-3, 6-2 and earn the hard fought victory.
The Scots will return to campus next weekend for a home match against Calvin University on Saturday (Apr. 24) at 11:00 a.m.
