Kalamazoo, Mich.- The Alma College women's tennis team fell to the host Kalamazoo College Hornets on Saturday (Mar. 20). The Hornets picked up three hard fought victories in doubles action before winning all six singles matches to earn the 9-0 victory.
In doubles action, Brooke Butterfield and Abigail Davenport dropped a close match 8-6. Senior Lucy McCarthy and sophomore Amanda Szymborski also dropped a close match 8-4. In the final doubles match of the afternoon, Emily McDonald and Elizabeth Hill fell 8-3.
The Hornets won all six singles matches in straight sets. Butterfield fell in number one singles 6-3, 6-0.
The Scots will be back in action on Tuesday (Mar. 30) when they travel to Trine University (IN) for a 3:00 p.m. match.
