ALBION, Mich. - The Alma College women's tennis team opened up its season with a 7-2 win over Albion College on Saturday.
The Scots took two of the three doubles match to start the day. Brooke Butterfield and Abigail Davenport won, 8-3, at first doubles. Amanda Szymborski and Elizabeth Hill won a tight one, 8-7, at second doubles.
Alma continued the momentum into singles with Butterfield, Davenport, and Szymborksi all winning their matches in straight sets. Emily McDonald slid into the fourth singles spot and won her match in straight-sets. Emma Lloyd picked up the final point the Scots with a straigh-sets victory at sixth singles.
The next time the Scots are in action will be March 13 when they host Spring Arbor University.
