Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 match to Trine University (IN) on Sunday (April 14). Alma falls to 9-7 overall and 2-4 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association; Trine improves to 10-7 and 4-2.
Caroline Ross (Sandusky, Mich. / Sandusky) and Bernadette Garibay (Lansing, Mich. / Grand Ledge) picked up Alma's only win, 8-5 over Andrea Jordan and Camille Lozier in the second doubles match.
How It Happened
- Both Garibay and Lucy McCarthy (Rockford, Mich. / Rockford) suffered close singles losses: Garibay fell 5-7, 6-7 to Delaney Keirn and McCarthy took the first set 6-4 against Kyra Braun but dropped the next two 6-3.
- Ross, like her doubles partner Garibay, also came up short on the singles side. She dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Tatum Matthews.
