Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to the Albion College Britons at home on Sunday (April 2). It was the team's first MIAA opponent of the season.
Alma (3-7 overall, 0-1 MIAA) picked up two wins, recording points in the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles matches.
The team of senior Chloe Ramsey (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg) and junior Amy Wood (Grand Rapids, Mich./City High Middle School) defeated Albion's Marceline Redick and Kirsten Moore 8-4, while Wood met Kirsten Moore again for a 6-2, 6-3 victory in singles competition. The victory improves Wood's season record to 4-3 record in singles play.
The Scots pick back up again on the road on Tuesday, April 4, when they take on the Calvin College Knights in Grand Rapids. The first set is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
