Women's tennis falls at Adrian, 7-2

Adrian, Mich. - The Alma College women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback at Adrian College on Wednesday (April 12) as the Bulldogs handed the Scots their fourth straight loss and left Alma in search of their first win in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.

Adrian opened the match with a sweep in the doubles contests before senior Claudia Barajas (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) opened the singles matches with her first victory of the season, defeating Amber Laginess, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles.

After Adrian won the next four singles matches, freshman Caroline Ross (Sandusky, Mich./Sandusky) picked up her first win in conference play, defeating Renae Almasy in a match tiebreaker at No. 2 singles.

The Scots will travel to Olivet College on Saturday, Oct. 15, with first serve scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
