Battle Creek, Mich. - The Alma College women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback on Tuesday (April 26) at the Minges Creek Athletic Club. The Scots drop to 4-10 overall and 1-5 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association with two matches to play in the season.
Junior Chloe Ramsey (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg) captured the Scots' only point, defeating Olivet's Rae Claramunt, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 5 singles. Senior Megan Solano (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) fought a close match at No. 1 singles, falling to the Comets' Rachael Hager, 7-5 and 7-6, dropping the tiebreaker in the second set by a 7-2 margin.
Alma will host its final two matches of the season, starting on Wednesday, April 27, with a 4:00 p.m. contest against Albion College. The Scots' final outing of the season will take place on Saturday, April 30, when Saint Mary's College visits the Alma College campus for a 1:00 p.m. match.
