Box Score On a gloomy Saturday afternoon, the Alma College women's soccer team defeated Trine 3-0 at Scotland Yard. With the victory, the Scots improve to 12-6 overall and remain in third in the MIAA with a 12-3 mark. The Thunder drop to 2-15 on the year and 1-14 in conference with the loss.

Alma got on the board at 13:25 when Sr. M Taryn Handyside (Montrose/Hill-McCloy) recorded her sixth goal of the season off a cross from Jr. F Mackenzie Smith (Saginaw/Saginaw Nouvel) to put the Scots up 1-0. Alma continued to attack, collecting eight shots compared to just one by Trine, but were unable to capitalize and the score remained 1-0 heading into halftime.
The Scots continued to pressure the Thunder in the second half, Fr. F Brianna Russell (Plainwell/Delton Kellogg) found the back of the net at 70:02 off an assist by Fr. D Megan Kalanik (Milford/Lakeland) to give Alma the 2-0 advantage. At 84:22, So. M Agatha Weddle (White Lake/Walled Lake Northern) tallied her eighth goal of the season off a Russell assist to seal the 3-0 victory for the Scots.
Statistically, Alma dominated the shots count 24-2 while recording four corner kicks compared to just two by the Thunder.
In goal, Fr. GK Marissa Platz (Belmont/Rockford) recorded two saves for Alma while Jamie Schnarr collected seven for Trine on Saturday.
The Scots end the regular season on the road, traveling to take on Kalamazoo in a pivotal conference match at 7 p.m.
