On Tuesday afternoon, the Alma College women's tennis team hosted Olivet College in a MIAA contest and defeated the Comets 7-2. With the win, the Scots improve to 8-2 overall on the season and 2-0 in the league, while Olivet is now 2-5 in 2012 and 0-2 in the MIAA.
The Scots took two out of three in doubles, with #2 Sr. Amy Baranowski (Marshall, Mich./Marshall) and Jr. Katie Meloche (Muskegon, Mich./Muskegon West Christian) setting the day's tone with a 9-7 hard-fought victory. In singles, the home team took five of six and were led by Fr. Erin Clutter (Petoskey, Mich./Petoskey), who won 6-2, 6-1 at number two.
Alma will next play at Saint Mary's on Friday afternoon in a MIAA contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
